My God， I’m tired。 I saw the announcement for this book’s release before I went to bed last night and downloaded it to read a couple of chapters before closing my eyes。。。 Big mistake。 I didn’t get to actually close my eyes until I turned the final digital page about 4 hours later。The Demon Accords has been my favourite series for a long time now， to where I re-read/listen to them multiple times a year。 They started out as a mix of easy reading fun， but over the course of the series， an epic stor My God， I’m tired。 I saw the announcement for this book’s release before I went to bed last night and downloaded it to read a couple of chapters before closing my eyes。。。 Big mistake。 I didn’t get to actually close my eyes until I turned the final digital page about 4 hours later。The Demon Accords has been my favourite series for a long time now， to where I re-read/listen to them multiple times a year。 They started out as a mix of easy reading fun， but over the course of the series， an epic story has been unfolding that really kicks into high gear in this book。 Blood drawn starts strong and is non-stop from there on out。 All the world-building and character development over the last 16 books （+ compendiums） have all been leading towards the events that kick off in this book， and it was truly satisfying to read。 There were multiple times where I had goosebumps reading this and I loved every minute。 So much happens in this book that it’s hard to single out any one event， but I will comment on one element of the Demon Accords that I love the most。 This series is proof that you can make overpowered characters work with good storytelling。 The so-called ‘superman problem’ where a character is so overpowered that they can’t be interesting is just an excuse for lazy writing。 Whether it’s Chris， Declan， Tanya， Omega， or any of the elders， none of them suffer from the Superman Problem because this series has taken the time to set up a conflict that can truly challenge them， and also set stakes that are proportional to their power level。 Not only does it work with them being so powerful， it actually wouldn’t work in any other way。 As I have a love for OP characters done well， I keep coming back to this series over and over because this is one of the best examples of this type of storytelling。 It has made this series one of my all-time favourites， and though it's early days yet， I can comfortably say that this book is one of my favourites in this series that I love so much。 It’s an easy 5-stars， and once again I can’t wait for the next instalment。 。。。more
